Posted Date: 09/16/26 (02:16 PM)

On Wednesday, September 16th, two student-athletes at Camden High School had the opportunity to be part of a new initiative in the Tri-Valley League. Juniors Evan Gonzalez and Abigail Hebble joined a group of peers from other Tri-Valley League member schools for the first-ever meeting of the TVL’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The Committee will meet five times each year to work on a variety of student-athlete initiatives within the league, and is part of a section-wide initiative. Each league within Section III established their own Student-Athlete Advisory Committee this year. It follows a long-standing model from the NCAA, where it is common for schools and conferences to have their own Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, along with one that meets at the national level for each NCAA division.

The group is overseen by two facilitators: Camden CSD Athletic Director Josh Mazzaferro, and Reanna Zappavigna, a Physical Education/Health Teacher and Coach in the Rome City School District.
